Kristin is licensed as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and currently in training as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Kristin received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her Master’s degree in Community Counseling with an Addiction Counseling Certificate from Winona State University. Kristin has four years of experience working with adults with a variety of therapeutic issues including: depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, and addiction.
Kristin has worked in residential and outpatient treatment settings, addressing substance use and mental health disorders. In addition, Kristin has two years of experience working in medication-assisted treatment with clients’ dependent on opioids. She has experience with both individual and group therapy.
Kristin’s approach to therapy utilizes evidenced-based practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She works to develop strong relationships with clients, believing the relationship is the core to successful therapeutic changes. She utilizes humor, acceptance, and compassion, to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
