As a Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis Counselor, Colleen helps clients develop coping skills to manage symptoms. Moreover, with a passion for supporting growth, she encourages clients to live their lives to the fullest. Consequently, her main focus centers on self-understanding and how mental health affects daily functioning and relationships. Therefore, believing in practical, person-centered care, she helps clients manage mental health and, when relevant, reduce or stop substance use.
Working with ages 4 through 94 and beyond, she tailors interventions to each developmental stage. Specifically, she employs Cognitive Behavioral, Behavioral, and Mindfulness modalities to guide clients toward their best possible lives. Additionally, certification in Narrative Attachment Therapy supports her work with children and adults who have experienced severe trauma. Thus, families, children, and adults receive coordinated care to support healthier attachments and functioning.
Colleen graduated from Florida State University in 1995 with honors and a Master’s of Social Work degree. Furthermore, she is registered with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She also holds certifications with Medicaid, Medicare, and most insurers, so she accepts a range of coverage. Finally, by supervising emerging professionals, she supports clinicians working toward licensure in the mental health field.
