Jason Unruh, CSAC

I recognize each person’s journey through addiction and recovery is unique. I use a person-centered approach when working with clients to tailor treatment plans to meet the specific needs, preferences, and circumstances of my clients. I encourage everyone I work with to actively participate in their own healing process and make informed decisions in their recovery.

I try to help clients develop a toolbox of coping strategies and skills to prevent relapse and help foster a positive environment of growth.  I believe I learn just as much from my clients as they learn from me, but I also believe in continuing my own education to help my clients. I regularly attend continuing education courses and I like to learn about other treatment modalities to ensure I am doing all I can to help foster a healing environment.

I earned my Bachelors in Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse from Upper Iowa University and I have maintained my license as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor for the State of Wisconsin for the past 8 years.  I am planning on returning to school for a Masters in mental health to obtain a professional counseling degree in the foreseeable future.
