DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals who struggle with managing their emotions, relationships, and impulsive behaviors. DBT combines elements of cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and dialectics to teach skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The goal of DBT is to help individuals develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, enhance interpersonal skills, and ultimately build a life worth living.
