Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question: How much will it cost, and can I use insurance?

Here at Alarus Healthcare, our insurance and billing department offer a few options for payment. Our insurance department will run a complimentary benefits check on your insurance so you may know what to expect regarding coverage and copays- please have your insurance card ready when scheduling your first appointment. If you do not have insurance, but are interested in receiving services, please give us a call so we can set up a payment plan. Please see our self-pay rates and comprehensive list of accepted insurances for further information.

Question: Who will I be meeting with?

All of the clinicians on staff at Alarus Healthcare are licensed professionals specializing in mental health and AODA issues. Our reception staff will ask you a few questions when setting up your intake appointment and assign you a therapist based on your treatment needs, scheduling availability, and their specialized training.

Question: How often, where, and for how long will we meet?

All treatment programs offered at Alarus are designed with your individual needs in mind. However, we find that most clients benefit from at least two sessions per month. Our clinic has three different locations. For more information, please see our Alarus Locations tab. The intake process and initial assessment are approximately 60 minutes, and follow-up individual sessions vary in length (30, 45, or 60 minutes) depending on patient needs.

Question: What is Your Cancellation Policy?

In order to best serve all of our clients, Alarus Healthcare kindly requests that in the instance that you are no longer able to attend your appointment, that you call the clinic as soon as you are able. Please note that appointments can be switched to telehealth at either the clinician or patient's request, and the office retains the right to switch to telehealth services in the event of staff illness or inclement weather conditions (Note: office closure due to weather or holiday will not result in any additional charges. Alerts will be sent out to patients who are on the schedule for the day in the event of a closure, and posted on our social media pages). Any cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment time may incur a $40.00 cancellation fee. Additionally, you may incur a $40.00 fee if you do not show for your appointment without notice. This policy allows for our clinicians to best meet the needs of their patients and keep time slots open, as there is a current high demand for services.

Please be advised that insurance plans will not reimburse you for late cancellations or for not showing up for appointments and it is your responsibility for payment. If you may need a payment plan, please reach out to our billing staff so they may work with your needs and schedule.
